Pharmatrin
WELCOME
Welcome to Pharmatrin

Pharmatrin Limited is a campus company of Trinity College Dublin, which was founded in 1999 by two researchers from the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. We specialise in developing small molecule New Chemical Entities (NCEs), with potential therapeutic application in the areas of inflammation and autoimmune diseases.

We do not produce generic copies of existing drugs, reprofile current drugs for new applications or make “me too” drugs – new drugs which are slight variations of existing drugs.

Our technology is entirely novel, we have an expanding patent portfolio and we expect to make a substantial contribution to the therapy of this important family of diseases. Our most advanced lead compound has proven efficacy in a significant model of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD),  a disease of which current market value is estimated in excess of $ 3BN per annum. This drug candidate represents a first-in-class for this disease indication and it is currently undergoing preclinical development.

Pharmatrin's investors are: The Wellcome Trust, Enterprise Ireland, Growcorp and Campus Companies Venture Capital Fund.

This site is currently under further development and we hope to have much greater detail, on what we do and where we are going, in the very near future.
